Chiropractic is an overall way of looking at the human body. It's based on the idea that the body is self-sustaining and self-healing. The body is completely controlled by the brain through its connection to the Nervous System via the spinal cord and the vast networks of nerves that make up the body. When this system is not functioning at its peak, the overall performance of the human body is lacking.
In the chiropractic world, drugs and medicine are not utilized as a form of treating a patient. While supplementation and nutrition are almost always a part of the bigger picture, drugs and prescriptions can be viewed as band-aids to treat symptoms rather than going to the source and treating the real problem.
When the spinal vertebrae are out of place or there is inflammation created on the nerve roots, there is an overall systemic effect on the structures innervated by those nerves to include muscles, organs, and glands down to the cellular level. Without proper alignment and flow of all nerves and systems in the body from the brain, we can't function at our peak.
An adjustment is often a pressure from the chiropractor utilizing his hands or an instrument to move a vertebrae back into place. This happens with a quick movement and is often without discomfort. In traditional chiropractic techniques, you may hear a noise that sounds like you're cracking your knuckles. This is termed “joint cavitation” and is simply a sound that is caused when there is a sudden decrease of internal pressure inside the joint that causes dissolved gasses in the synovial fluid to be released.
In other chiropractic techniques Dr Posner uses such as KST, there is no “popping or cracking” or twisting, as the adjustment is performed using the Arthrostim™ instrument. Patients have the choice as to which method that they prefer. Dr Posner’s signature Wholistic chiropractic approach is unique to him and chances are is not available at any other office. If you have been dissatisfied with other chiropractors you owe it to yourself to try Dr,Posner as he customizes his technique to your specific needs and he is well versed in many different techniques.
Overall, adjustments are an excellent way to keep your body functioning at its highest ability. When your body is in alignment, it’s able to respond and perform as it was designed to, always restoring or maintaining your health at its highest possible level of expression.
